NOx Reduction Technology

No need to add additional heating unit(s) to the aftertreatment system. Inject urea at any temperature you wish, below 100 C (e.g., for ammonia storage in the SCR catalyst) or above 100 C (for catalytic NOx reduction). Never run out of stored ammonia. Create several-fold more gaseous ammonia, substantially lowering your tailpipe NOx emission, meeting world’s most stringent NOx regulations (on-road, off-road, marine, California/ US EPA, Tier-5, Euro-7/VII, China 6,7, Bharat 6,7 and more).  Drive in low-load cycles (regulatory, vocational or …) for as long as you need to. Bring deposits under control. Yield fuel economy, lower tailpipe CO2. All at the lowest cost relative to any competing technology. Sounds appealing?  That’s our technology!

Proprietary Solution for Ultra-Low NOx Emission

What is an Aftertreatment Exhaust System?

A diesel emission control system is a sophisticated assembly positioned downstream of diesel engines responsible for substantial reduction of engine emissions. It comprises several components, including a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), a diesel particulate filter (DPF), a mixer, and a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst. This system reduces harmful emissions by utilizing a process that involves injecting Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), commonly known as urea, into the exhaust stream. Ammonia, produced by the injected DEF, mixes with the exhaust gas and passes through the SCR catalyst, where a chemical reaction converts harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) into nitrogen (N2) , water vapor, and carbon dioxide (CO2).

Why better NOx reduction technologies?

The ever-tightening diesel emission regulations, such as California 2027, China 7, and Euro VII, and more, present significant challenges for large, medium or small Diesel engines meeting such ultra-stringent regulations. Major hurdles and challenges include ultra-low NOx reduction particularly in low-temperature conditions, while avoiding urea deposits and saving CO2.
At Emissol we offer an innovative, low-cost solution. Leveraging our proprietary technology, our solution ensures highly efficient NOx conversion in low exhaust temperatures, overcoming the limitations faced in traditional systems. It also inhibits urea deposits, substantially reducing warranty risks, associated maintenance and performance issues. Emissol's solution empowers diesel engines to meet emission regulations effectively and sustainably while optimizing their operations.

Our groundbreaking, R&D-100 Award finalist, is an emission reduction technology equipped with a proprietary design that is shown to meet most stringent NOx emission regulations set by California/US EPA (2027), and is in consideration for meeting Euro-VII and China VII, Tier 5 (USA), Stages 5 & 6 (Europe) amongst other ultra-low NOx reduction targets. Our innovative solution drastically reduces tailpipe NOx emissions inhibits formation of unwanted urea deposits and is a major enabler for ultra-low NOx performance in low-load cycles such as in city driving, Real Driving Emissions  (RDE), low-idle, rapid transients and other difficult drive cycles. Learn more about how we are paving the way towards a greener future with our innovative, environmentally conscious technology.
